FREE Toys And Warm Clothing For Christmas

Even though in 2016 we invested our efforts into helping organize a bone marrow drive for a cancer patient, as opposed to the usual Christmas toys give away, we still received over a dozen requests for toys, warm clothing and such.

We weren’t planning on it, but the nine families that came to us left with toys, warm sweaters, jackets and blankets. Three families had no way to come so we delivered a little Christmas to them. (One requester was a no show.)

One Human Community came through for the community as usual, no one’s request for help was denied.

PLEASE NOTE: One Human Community’s Christmas give-away in 2017 will consist of children books, only.

Christmas Gift Bags Needed

Cold weather – and the Holiday Season – is approaching. One Human Community is preparing (cleaning, washing and fixing) used toys and warm clothing which will be given free of charge to needy families in San Fernando Valley.
The work is progressing and, as in previous years, there will be quite some stuff to give!

Christmas Gift Bags Needed

Help One Human Community make Christmas warm for those in need, again!

Pretty dolls and other toys for young girls are ready. (We still have to install batteries where needed.) Among the clothing (for women and teenage girls) there will be warm tops (sweatshirts and sweaters); a warm robe, warm pajamas, etc… Things are looking good.

We have ONE serious problem: lack of Christmas bags! (Last year, we gave toys in new trash bags, but we learned since that those are insensitive: they evoke traumatic memories in those who passed through the foster care system.) We REALLY want to replace them with Christmas gift bags this year.

If you can give – or buy for us – some medium and a few large Christmas bags, you’d help us solve the problem! (Please remember: One Human Community isn’t a non-profit organization but a community movement so you won’t get a tax-deductible receipt.)

The free toys – lovingly restored by Avo Keshishyan, the Founder of One Human Community – were clean, beautiful, in working order and made little girls whose parents have fallen on hard times happy this Christmas.

 

 

Many struggling San Fernando Valley’s families came to pick up free toys for Christmas. Even though not everything is well with the world and many still suffer in today’s economy, One Human Community has done its best to ensure that more children in our area will have a visit from Santa this Christmas.

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to the families that visited with us and to every family out there!

To our FABULOUS volunteers: please accept Avo’s and Rev. Enrich’ heartfelt thanks! The holiday events went smoothly because of you. (Not to brag, but it seems that our feelings for volunteers were mutual.  That’s the message sent to us by one of them: “Your beautiful hearts will most definitely be appreciated. Hope, cheers and many blessings to your troops this holiday season.. My prayers go out to you all.”)
